Your donation helps preserve the Northern Pacific Railway Museum's historic depot, restore and maintain railroad equipment, and share the history of the Northern Pacific Railway and its role in the development of the region. As a volunteer operated museum, we depend on community support to care for our collection and preserve it for future generations.
Preserving No. 1364
Then and now
Northern Pacific No. 1364 has come a long way since arriving at the museum in 1994. After decades of work by dedicated volunteers, the locomotive returned to steam on January 1, 2026, and moved under its own power for the first time in 73 years. Donations help support the continued care, maintenance, and operation of this historic locomotive.

Preserving our collection

The museum's collection includes more than locomotives and railroad cars. Historic vehicles, such as our 1941 Railway Express Agency truck, help tell the story of the transportation services that connected communities and supported the railroad industry.
