Caboose Birthday Parties: Individually scheduled--$100 minimum.  Call Mary at (509) 877-3894 to schedule.

Locomotive Engineer Experience: $100 by reservation, call Mary as above

Northern Pacific Railway Museum Regular Season: Wednesday, May 1 to Tuesday, October 16, 2013:  Tuesday to Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM, Sunday Noon to 4 PM, closed Mondays.

Educational Activities (School Tours): April to September:  Call Mary O'Dell, (509) 877-3894 to schedule.

Museum Work Days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday: year around.  Call Jerry Boekholder (509) 865-2409 or Doug Shearer (509) 854-1971 for information.  NP 1364 crew usually works Friday evening and Saturday.  Call to confirm, especially during winter when work dates are cancelled occasionally.

Work/History Weekends: Volunteering, BBQ and Northern Pacific History lecture:  Usually April, June and October-first 2013 event April 27-29, 2013:  Stop by and give a hand with the many projects at the museum.  New volunteers will be guided through various projects each work day.  A barbeque and picnic will be held at the depot along with an evening lecture co-sponsored by the Northern Pacific Railway Historical Association.  For those that want to come early and stay late we get together Friday evening and have further work in progress on Sunday.  Limited accommodations are available--click for further information. 

14th Annual Railroad Show: Saturday, August 24 , 2013:   The  annual event is planned for the 4th weekend in August each year.  The museum shows the following:

  • Railroad telegraphy demonstration with "hooping up orders" demonstration

6th Annual Haunted Train and Depot:  Dates to follow for 2013:  For a really scary Halloween experience, join us at the museum for the 6th annual Haunted Train/Haunted Depot event. The event will be open from 7 PM – 11 PM on Saturday night, to 10 PM on Sunday,  Wednesday and Thursday.  It will feature ghosts, goblins, and a fright at every corner as you tour the haunted depot and 2 haunted railroad cars.  Admission is $5 per person.  Ages 13 and older please.  Join us for this unique event in a unique setting at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum. 

For families with younger children, we will be offering our Annual Pumpkin Run at the museum  on Saturday, October 26, 2012,  10-4 PM. This event features a caboose ride to NoWhere, pump car rides, museum tours, and a free pumpkin for each child.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.

10th Annual Toy Train Christmas at the Northern Pacific Railway Museum:  Saturdays November 30, December 7, 14 & 21; Sundays, December 8,  15 & 22, 2013 10:00-4:00 PM.   Take a short caboose ride to the "North Pole" to see Santa Claus.  In 2012 there were 40  operating toy trains around decorated Christmas trees and plans are underway for new displays for 2013.  Hot chocolate and cookies were offered to everyone.  Photographs with Santa Claus will be printed on site for extra charge.  Adults $6.00, Children $4.00.
